You're next by Keren Frydman

You’re next by Keren Frydman is a short film that deals with traditions and the expected social status for women. Are women expected to create a family and evolve a career at a certain age? In various societies this may be an enforced expectation that is bolstered by a long history of expected specific gender roles.

The title of the this piece, You’re next, has ambiguous connotations. It is a phrase that derives from the social situation during weddings when the phrase is uttered to the unmarried woman, “You’re next....” This phrase can be construed (and quite rightly so) as an insult to the life choices of an individual, it may also imply that the woman in question may not have much time to adhere to society's expected gender role....

  1. I couldn't formulate any substantial questions about this shortfilm, because I did not understand the text and wihtout it I couldn't really get the message that was in the description.

I did like the simple animation mixed with real video footage and the fact that the actress was blurred all the time to signify her as "any woman".

It would be cool to get an analysis from the creator on how they decided to interperet their creation visually, but that might be a bit too much to ask, or would it?
