Lada Niva: Roscosmos Edition 1-3

This is a short computer animation done by a German digital artist Florian Werzinski and his associates.

The center of the film is a legendary Soviet off-road car Lada Niva placed in an unexpected environment. It's driven by two cheerful Russian astronauts to space station Mir and back to the Earth. The film in a comical way, through three spots, glorifies the strength and heritage of Soviet Union and Lada Niva as their secret weapon and the most universal vehicle of all time.

This work is nominated in a category of Computer graphics and Design (it definitely deserves its nomination) and touches the sky on a low budget rather than it introduces realistic special effects. It offers an interesting concept, less graphically fulfilled than its only opponent in the category "A beautiful bloody sound", but again, more communicative. As there are only two of them, it has very good chances to win this category... I wouldn't be so sure for the overall, as I think there are objectively better nominees.

  1. I think this video was very well done, the 3D graphics look very realistic.
Is this meant to be a real advertisement for Lada Niva? Since the end of the video seems to give that impression, with the Lada logo and everything.

  2. It is not an advertisement, I believe, but a masterpiece of sarcasm ;-)
